Anton & I venture to the greatest place on earth!

MEXICO!
We headed down last Monday. More security crossing the border into Mexico than there ever has been before. Usually they just wave you through. Could have been smuggling hella illegal arms down there! This time the guy asked where we were coming from, going, whose car it was...weird.
We had intentions of getting down there early but like most things we intend to do early, we did not succeed. Still got down there before sunset.
We always stay in a pretty dive-y hotel near Manny's. We were even thinking about camping this time, but Anton's Mom insisted we stay in a nice place and volunteered to pay for it! So nice! Peñasco Del Sol, way nicer than we deserve. Nothing makes you appreciate decent hotel rooms like traveling SE Asia on a budget for a year. This is the view from our room.
Took it pretty easy the first night because I wasn't feeling great. The next morning though, oh! A fancy Valentine's Day breakfast. We ate at this little restaurant on the beach that's right behind the main RV park.

Then we headed down the beach to check out Manny's, one of the most well known bars in Rocky Point.

IT WAS TOTALLY HOPPING as in not a single person was there.
Not wanting to stay in creepy empty bar, we headed to JJ's in Choya Bay. Usually a prime spot for old timers.

We weren't disappointed. Lots of white haired people getting wasted. Anton talked to the guy with the biggest beard and I ate free popcorn.
Anton made me take tequila shots. "Made me" = put one in front of me. We were getting extremely drunk by this point. We left JJ's.
I am a bigger fan of timer photos whilst intoxicated.
KISSS MEEEE DU RRrRRRR IM WASTEDDD
Things are fuzzy.
Very fuzzy.
LET'S TRY MANNY'S AGAIN. Success! Some people to talk to!
Anton smoked one of the guys weird cigarettes. Orange flavored pall mall hundreds. What!?
They were very wasted so we fit in nicely.
Drunken bird pics.

We went to eat more tacos after Manny's and were home and passed out by 8 or 9 o'clock. Great success. The next day we took it pretty easy. Got more breakfast at the beach bar and relaxed in our fancy hotel room for awhile.
I was determined to hot tub during the sunset, and that was accomplished.
Drank a piña colada.
That night we went over to the bar across the street and the guy sold us on their Meter Shot. It was about what you'd expect if you expected it to be mostly juice and for us to barely feel anything from splitting this.
It was pretty though! And the bartender was nice. He told us about this bar we'd never heard of that had pretty decent deals and was usually pretty busy. Bryan's! We went over there and ate some wings that were ridiculously tiny. Then it was time for sleeps.
The next morning we were back in party shape. And thank goodness we were, as it was our last full day. What better way to get a day started than with a Michelada?
It's funny cuz alto also means TALL in Spanish and Anton is tall DO YOU GET IT? GET IT??
Pretty beach.
After breakfast tacos we stopped at The Tequila Factory. Anton had been wanting to stop there forever and we finally did. Fernando, the guy working there, gave us each a half shot sample of the three different tequilas in the barrels. They were all crazy good. Anton ended up buying the Blanco and the Anejo. Fernando rules.
Then I demanded more hot tub time. Back to the hotel.
First we needed some bevvys.
Had to wait for the hot tub to warm up. Have I mentioned it was freaking COLD down there? I wore shorts the first day and everyday after that it was long pants and multiple sweaters. So glad we were at a nice place so the hot tub was an option.
More waiting.

View of the hotel from the hot tub.
CORNHOLIO.
We continued enjoying our hotel drinks (2 for 1 4pm-6pm) for a little while after we hot tubbed. We were getting pretty tipsy though and Anton had gotten into the somas.
Demanded drunken silhouette kiss picture.
We were treated to another nice sunset that night, crushing any desire we had to leave.
Oh, Mexico.
You know I just can't quit you.
