THE COLOR RUN

was a great success. Me and my Pa crushed the 5K in just under 30 minutes, would have been faster if we hadn't had to walk behind all the slowpokes in the beginning. Although it wasn't really about speed is was more about getting douched in powdered paint, which I accomplished.

The dress code mandated white shirts.

And we rocked the temporary tattoos that were in our race bags.

It began running across the Mill Ave bridge.

And looped down to run next to the lake.

First color station was YELLOW.

It then went GREEN, PURPLE, and finally PINK! My Mom, who is responsible for all the photos, was hanging with Seester right after the PINK section.

We finished the run and found them pretty fast considering there were 6,000 people in the race. We were looking good.

Then the color tossing began. All the runners got a packet of color at the finish line...

It was crazy in the middle of all that! Blinding and colorful and crazy.

A Dalmatian! Definitely the perfect dog for this.

We hung out at Tempe Beach Park for a little while but quickly got hungry.

So the 4 of us walked down Mill Ave to the Tavern for some breakfast.

It looks like my Dad has an earring.

Yes, a shower after all of this was AMAZING. The white shirt I wanted to keep colored so my Mom sprayed it with vinegar and ironed it before washing (that's what the Color Run website recommended). It worked pretty well. The other clothes recovered nicely. My skin was a bit stained on the inside of my elbows...made me look like a junkie.

All in all, great success.
